11:11 Pickleball House

Listed as a covered court, which is why we picked it for an afternoon in the rainy season. It is not covered. There is a roof over about a third of one court and nothing over the rest. We played anyway and got soaked. The surface also gets genuinely slippery when it is wet, so after one of us went over we stopped. Fix the listing and this is a two or three star outdoor court at a fair price, but as described it is wrong and somebody is going to get hurt.

Booked an evening slot on the strength of the photos and the lights are nowhere near bright enough to play properly once it is fully dark. Two of the four floods on the far side were out and the ball genuinely disappears against the background on that half of the court. We swapped ends every game to be fair to each other, which is not something you should have to do. Price was fine and the surface is good, but I would only come back during the day until the lighting is sorted.

Good courts let down by the entrance. The gate is not marked and the pin in the map takes you round the back of the building, so we spent ten minutes of our booking walking in circles and asking people. Once we found it everything was fine and the staff were apologetic. If they fix the directions this is an easy four.

Easy to find, parking right beside the court, and someone actually answers the phone. We had a group of eight so we took two courts side by side and it worked out cheaper than the indoor places. The surface is a little worn near the kitchen line on the far court, nothing dangerous, just noticeable. Everything else was exactly as described in the listing, which sounds like faint praise until you have been somewhere it was not.

Took my father here for his first game at sixty-eight and the staff could not have been more patient with him. They put us on the court furthest from the loud group, lent him a lighter paddle when the first one was too heavy, and nobody rushed us when we ran over by ten minutes. He has asked to go back every week since. The court itself is well kept and the shade over the benches matters more than you would think at two in the afternoon.
