Common questions · Players and hosts
How booking works, what a plan costs, how a host is paid, and the things we do not do. If your question is about one court, the message button on that court page reaches the people who run it.
No. Players pay us nothing on any plan. Only the host pays. A player can book with a free account, or as a guest with no account if you allow it, and every court allows it until you switch it off.
Every new host starts on Starter with 7 days at no cost. We ask for no card, so nothing can be charged by mistake. We tell you two days before it runs out. Pro and Club have no free week.
Your court page, your photos and every booking you have taken all stay. New booking requests stop until you pick a plan, and they start again the moment you do.
No. You pay one flat amount a month and nothing else. What a player pays for the court is yours.
Nothing breaks and no booking is lost. Your courts stay live and we ask you to move up before you add another one.
Yes, whenever you like. There is no contract and no notice. You keep the plan until the period you have paid for ends.
No. A phone is enough. Checking players in uses the camera you already have.
Yes. You keep your own account for taking money, and your rates, hours and rules all belong to your own courts.
Your court page stops taking new requests until the 1st, and we tell you before you get there. Nothing you have already taken is affected. Bookings you add yourself at the desk do not count, and neither do requests you turn down or that run out. Moving up a plan turns requests back on once it is paid for.
Our five playing levels are adopted from DUPR's rating scale. Four of them line up with a DUPR range, and one sits below it, for people new to the game. Pick yours on your account so a host knows roughly how you play. We are not connected to DUPR, so nothing you do here changes a DUPR rating.
Your booking carries a booking code and a QR pass. If the host uses check-in, which comes with the Pro and Club plans, show either one when you arrive and they check you in. OpenDinkers does not open doors or gates, so a locked court is still the host letting you in.
Yes, as a group. A booking has one payer, so whoever books pays the host for the whole court. But if you play together as a club or squad, the organiser can put a session on that booking and split the court cost between the people who come. Each player then pays the organiser directly.
The host writes their own cancellation terms, and those terms are copied onto your booking the moment you book, so they cannot be changed afterwards. We work out what is owed back from them and the host sends it. Nothing about the weather is automatic: a rained off court is the host calling it off.
Yes. Every court page has a message button that opens a thread with the people who run that court. You do not need a booking first.
Every request waits for you to accept or decline it, and both sides are told what you decided. You can also add a booking yourself for somebody standing at the desk, which skips the request.
Yes. Each court has its own opening hours and its own price, and you can charge a different amount at different times of the day. On Pro and Club you can also hire out extras such as paddles or a ball machine, by the hour or per booking.
Straight away, and not by us. A player pays into your own account, so there is nothing for us to pass on and no payout to wait for. You switch on the ways you want to be paid and enter your own details for each one.
Yes. Close a court for any stretch of time and it stops taking requests, with your other courts unaffected. Each closure is one period, so a weekly slot is closed one week at a time.
A player can ask for a repeating booking, so a weekly game is one request rather than a new one every week. Each date still needs a free court, and you still decide on the request.
No. We never hold or move a player's money. What a player pays for a court goes straight to the host, into the host's own account, and we take no share of it.
These are the ones the platform supports today. Each host picks which of them they accept, so what one court takes is not what another takes.
Not with us. A card is typed on the payment provider's own checkout and never on a page of ours, so we never see the number and we store nothing of it. The secret half of a host's own keys is stored encrypted, and it is never shown again once it is saved.
A question about one court is best asked of the host who runs it. A question about hosting is answered by the host pages.
Sign in, open any court page and use the message button. It starts a thread with the people who run that court, and you can ask before you book anything.
What the host side does, what a plan costs where you are, and what we never charge you for.
